We are pleased to announce the publication of our new book on
Executive Coaching, Mentoring and Organizational Consultancy
Supervision, written by Peter Hawkins and Nick Smith and published by
the Open University Press.
We have held a strong interest in the practice of supervision for
twenty years and for the last three have been running the first UK
certified training in Executive Coaching Supervision jointly with the
Centre for Staff Team Development. Some 76 people have participated in
elements of the training and 7 are now fully qualified.
For those readers interested in executive coaching you can download a free extract which focuses on Team Coaching, an often neglected aspect of the coaching spectrum.
What the book covers
- What are the key skills needed to be a successful coach, mentor or supervisor?
- How can personal development be effectively facilitated?
- What are the ethical guidelines for practicing as a coach, mentor or organizational supervisor?
Divided into three parts the book first discusses the practice of coaching, mentoring and consultancy. The second section then goes on to look at development and supervision of these roles whilst the third addresses the wider issues of training, skills and capacities required in these roles.
