The Association of Professional Executive Coaching and Supervision (APECS) has appointed its first president, Professor Peter Hawkins. Chairman of Bath Consultancy Group and joint founder and partner in the Centre for Supervision and Team Development, Professor Hawkins is a driving force in coaching and supervision.

APECS (www.apecs.org/) is an association for top-level executive coaches and corporate clients and is currently developing its own supervision accreditation.  Patti Stevens, joint founder of APECS, comments on Professor Hawkins' appointment: "During the past three years APECS has grown considerably.  Just as the coaching profession is developing so are we, and Peter's appointment will take us to the next level.  He is highly respected internationally and we are delighted that he is joining us to represent APECS on a national and global basis."

Professor Hawkins is a sought-after speaker at international conferences and teaches leadership and coaching supervision through Bath Consultancy Group and for many Universities and organisations. He has written widely, including co-authoring the best selling "Supervision in the Helping Professions" (Open University Press 1989, 2000 and 2006);   "Coaching, Mentoring and Organizational Consultancy: Supervision and Development" (McGraw-Hill/Open University Press 2006); the CIPD change Agenda "Coaching Supervision"; and "The Wise Fool's Guide to Leadership" (O Books 2005).
