Shifting The System

Set in the beautiful Bailbrook House a Grade II secluded manor house hotel, surrounded by 20 acres of private gardens. Bath Conference 2016 really was in the perfect setting for hosting our guests for two days creative thinking, and thought leadership. 

Our theme for 2016, ‘Shifting the System’ was extensively explored on many levels!

A great mix of people joined the two-day event as a group we had a stimulating combination of debate, questioning and learning as we explored the topic.

In the lead-up to the event, we looked at some of the shifts we’ve seen in the last 30 years: how they have shaped who we are, how we work and the system we are part of today. Why 30 years? Because Bath Consultancy Group turned 30 this year!

We would love to hear about your own experiences of shifting systems in that time too – retweet, comment or bring them to the conference. Like any milestone birthday, it seems to give the opportunity to take a moment to stand still in the present, to look all around ourselves and see what might be happening.

The conference every year is run primarily on Open Space principles, for 2016 we did just that and it flowed brilliantly.  Our inquiry into ‘Shifting the System’ was driven by the agenda we jointly set at the outset of the event. Many of the participants volunteered to lead open space, holding sessions from poetry to Jammin (connecting remotely).

Our evening time was a key part of the event, after the first full day it was a lovely opportunity to take a breather, and relax over dinner and drinks. Accompanied by a very thoughtful speech from Professor Hawkins keeping in theme with 30 years of business success.
