Gil
co-leads BCG’s coaching and coaching supervision product
area. This is an exciting time since more and more organisations
are embracing coaching as a method to accelerate individual
and organisational learning for increased performance. Quality
coach development and supervision is an essential ingredient
for success.
He is on the Board of the European Mentoring and Coaching
Council (EMCC). Formerly, as Chair of the Standards Committee
he led the world’s most comprehensive research into the
competencies of coaching and mentoring, and the introduction
of ‘kitemarking’ of coaching and mentoring qualifications.
Now he chairs the ‘roundtable’ of all the coaching
professional bodies in the UK.
Gil’s career in the UK spans 20 years including 14 years
as Training & Development / OD Manager for PHH Europe in
Swindon and more latterly with Orange in Bristol. Major projects
included leadership and management development, creation and
integration of mission, values and critical success factors,
implementation of performance management systems, creating
learning processes to support business transformation and process
reengineering, recognition and reward strategy and practices.
Gil went ‘independent’ in 2000 as a trainer, consultant
and coach. In addition to BCG, he is associated with a couple
of other premier consultancies. He has trained hundreds of
in-company mentors and coaches in a wide range of private and
public sector organisations. His clients include BOC, The Cabinet
Office, DOH & NHS, London Business School, MOD and Nationwide
Building Society.
Gil lives in a small village near Chippenham with his wife,
three teenagers, a couple of cats and ferrets with views over
the (neighbour’s) horse paddock and the wilds of Wiltshire!
He is on the Management Committee of a counselling charity
based in Swindon.
