BCG Team

Sue Pritchard

Sue PritchardSue joined the BCG Core Team this year, after a number of years as an Associate.  Her job at BCG is to grow and develop the Public Sector portfolio, which appeals to her fascination with the relationship between developments in public policy and real service improvements on the ground.  In her fifteen years as a consultant, Sue has been occupied by the growing worldwide interest in ‘partnership’ and collaborative approaches to organisation change and leadership development.  She really enjoys working with Boards and top teams to get to grips with the tough stuff around culture, performance improvement and ‘whole system’ change, particularly if it involves including stakeholders, customers and services users in the mix.

Her current and recent clients include: Welsh Assembly Government, Defence Science and Technical Labs, Defence Procurement Agency, Link 2 Life and a number of NHS organisations and Local Authorities in partnership projects.  She uses a blend of large and small group processes, team development, coaching and mentoring approaches to help her clients achieve the outcomes they want.

Sue is a keen supporter of an Action Learning orientation to self and organisation development and was a Visiting Research Fellow at the Revans Institute for Action Learning and Research from 1999 - 2004.  Currently she sits on the Editorial Board of Action Learning: research & practice, an international Taylor and Francis journal.

When she is not consulting, Sue is Chair of Monmouthshire Local Health Board, giving her a much grounded appreciation of the challenges in bringing about improved outcomes for service users, customers and clients.

She has published a number of pieces over the years, most recently:

Attwood M, Pedler M, Pritchard S and Wilkinson D 2003, Leading Change – a guide to whole systems working. The Policy Press, Bristol.

Altounyan C and Pritchard S 2002, A Best Practice Guide to Culturally Competent Service User Involvement; Birmingham Race Action Partnership.

Mann P, Rummery K and Pritchard S 2004, Supporting inter-organisational partnerships in the public sector: the role of joined up action learning and research, Public Management Review.

Porter S, Earll L and Pritchard S 2006, Developing Neighbourhood Profiles The Gloucester Partnership.

Sue lives on a small farm in Wales with her extended family, where weekend relaxation usually involves lively activities with horses, cows or sheep.
