Learning Network Network
March 2001
The first meeting on 27th March 2001 was hosted by Cable and
Wireless and addressed the questions
Leadership - Changing leaders - whose agenda is it?
"Should we be trying to change successful people at the top of organisations
or to understand their strengths and put things in place to counter their relative
weaknesses? Is change their agenda or ours?"
Developing Creativity / Innovation - drawing learning on supporting
innovation from the entrepreneurial mindset of venture capital
into a leading creative organisation
The June seminar was hosted by GSK at their new headquarters
building and Euan Semple from the BBC joined the group to talk
about his passion for Weblogs and their application / influence
on organisational learning.
Other themes included merger integration, leadership, research
into best practice business schools and balance between being
an OD practitioner and managing.
In September the group focused on the value of executive coaching
and its links to organisation development hosted by Shell International.
In December at a meeting hosted by PwC we explored an individual
case study around initiating organisation development activity
in a organisation with little experience of OD through influencing
strategic planning.
