 UK Associate
David is and Associate of Bath Consultancy Group and a senior learning and development professional, with particular experience running complex global Leadership Development and Learning functions. David is currently working on a 6 month contract with HSBC as a Learning and Development Consultant to continue to support the Learning transformation and Group Leadership development.
He has worked with HSBC since 1997 with his most recent role as Group Head of Learning:
with accountability for technical, professional and leadership training with direct and /or indirect management of 2000 learning staff and supporting processes and systems. From 2008 he created and led the Learning Transformation Programme to form a single global learning organisation learning framework with consistent systems and processes.
His previous roles with HSBC include:
- Group Head of Leadership Development. Responsible for Group wide Strategic programmes (Leadership, Risk and Sales & Relationship management) and for the assessment and development of the current and future leaders of HSBC. This was a strategic and operational role with a key target audience of the Group talent pool and business top talent.
- Group Head of Development and Relationship Manager for Corporate Investment Banking and Markets. Responsible for leadership development for the HSBC Group, in addition to previous responsibilities.
- Head of Training and development HSBC Investment Banking and Markets. Responsible for the all training, management development, and Graduate and MBA recruitment for 15000 staff globally. Business areas include. Equities, Corporate Finance, Private Banking, Treasury and Capital Markets, Asset Management, Merchant banking and support functions. The role included direct management of a team of 25 staff in London Hong Kong and New York.
Prior to his career with HSBC David was Vice President, Director, Training and Development Europe at Morgan Stanley:
Responsible for management development, professional, technical, and IT training for 3000 European staff and European HR director IT: Responsible for all HR issues for 500 IT staff across
David holds a BA Honours in Theology from Exeter University and Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management from Thames Valley University. He is married to Ursula with 4 children (Naomi, Ben, Nathan and Lucy) and enjoys family life, sport and music.
