Simon Cooper is a specialist in Corporate Social Responsibility, working with organizations and individuals to help them understand and focus on their core values, and communicate these to the world.
Simon spent 25 years in broadcasting and has been a presenter, station managing director, HR director and Communications Director in his career in radio, ranging from Classic FM to automated digital stations. His career in radio has given him excellent presentation skills and the ability to meet the needs of audiences large and small - qualities which come to the fore in his consulting practice.
A qualified performance coach, he graduated in 2005 with an MSc in Responsibility and Business Practice from the School of Management at the University of Bath. Consulting in Corporate Social Responsibility his specialist field is Media CSR, but he also works with clients in software, utilities, the law, and property.
In parallel with his CSR Consultancy he is an experienced practitioner in Executive Branding, which helps people to discover and refine the personal brand values which give them their place in the world. He also runs Business Readings, which bring colleagues together to read and discuss the latest management thinking.
He is a trustee of the Demos think-tank, a member of the Council of the Schumacher Society and a founding director of the Association of Sustainability Practitioners. He is a director of The Hub Bristol, a new workspace for social entrepreneurs, and an Adviser at Editorial Intelligence. He sits on the Business West board and the Wessex Water Sustainability Panel. He chairs the music therapy charity Bristol MusicSpace, the Encounters Short Film Festival and the fundraising committee of the At-Bristol Hands-On Science Centre. He is a trustee of Wallace and Gromit's Children's Foundation, which works with Aardman Animations to raise money for children's hospitals throughout the UK. In 2004 he was elected to the Society of Merchant Venturers in Bristol, where he serves on the Project Board for the new Merchants' Academy in South Bristol.
