Michael has over 18 years of consulting experience. Michael currently is a Senior Associate for Teleos Leadership Institute and has worked with Teleos Leadership Institute since its founding in 2002. He also runs a boutique leadership development and change management firm out of Dallas Texas and is a faculty member for Duke Corporate Education's Global Learning Resource Network.
Dr. Michael McElhenie works with leaders to manage individual, team, and organizational change through executive coaching and collaborative leadership development. A key area of Michael's expertise is in helping executives assess the current, dynamic state of their organization's culture, uncover the mission-aligned optimal state, and begin the steps to bridge the gap between the two through intentional, resonant leadership. Michael frequently delivers workshops and symposia on emotional intelligence and has extensive experience helping senior-level leaders develop the values-centered leadership and relational competencies necessary for success.
Throughout his career, Michael has designed and/or led major leadership, executive coaching, change, HR and learning projects for global and national clients, including American Airlines, Anadarko Petroleum, Berlex Pharmaceuticals, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Consumer Credit Counseling Service, Corporation for Public Broadcasting, DataReturn, Exelon Energy, H&R Block, Intel, Johnson & Johnson, Merck, Motorola, MWH, Nortel Networks, Progressive Insurance, PwC, Sabre, Sepracor Pharmaceuticals, TXU, Texas Children's Hospital, Texas Instruments, The Nature Conservancy, Unicredito Banca, Unilever, United Nations, Victoria Order of Nurses (Canada), Wal-Mart, World Bank and YMCA. He also led major humanitarian projects, many for the United Nations, in regions around the globe: Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe and the Caribbean.
Michael received his doctorate in Organizational, Clinical and Experimental Psychology from the University of North Texas, and his Bachelor of Science in Psychology/Neuroscience from the University of Florida. He is a practicing licensed psychologist and a graduate of the Gestalt Institute of Cleveland's renowned Organizational Systems and Development program.
