Don is an experienced executive coach, working with business and government organizations in support of their leadership and management development requirements.  In this regard, Don has coached numerous executives from a range of Asian nations in strengthening their individual management and leadership skills.  He has also designed, developed, and facilitated workshops in leadership skills, performance management, and the coaching style of leadership.  Don has earned his Associate Coaching Certification (ACC) from the International Coach Federation (ICF).

Don is a successful business leader with over 30 years of hands-on management in international banking centers throughout Asia-Pacific.  These assignments have given Don significant cross-cultural management experience. Over the past three decades, he has developed excellent people skills -- coaching, training, managing, mentoring, motivating, networking, and leading.  Don is also an experienced trainer having led numerous workshops and seminars during his career on such subjects as leadership, managing for results, and risk management.

As Executive Coach for Coaching Associates, Don is able to leverage this broad range of business experiences.  In coaching with many multinational and regional clients, Don draws on his first hand experience in starting up new businesses, opening new offices, re-engineering and restructuring business operations, managing joint ventures, working through a take-over acquisition, and even closing down a business operation.  In each of these situations Don has consistently focused on building organizations of skilled and motivated team members while achieving bottom-line business profitability. 

His recent and current clients include: BOC Gases, TNT, Siemens, Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore, National Starch & Chemical, Risk Management Association, Singapore Management University, SIM, and the Asian Women's Welfare Association.

For these clients Don has provided individual coaching to over 250 executives on a range of their self-development objectives.  His assignments have also included designing, developing, and facilitating workshops on such topics as leadership styles, performance management, coaching skills, and risk management.

Don earned his Bachelor's degree from Stanford University in political science. He then earned a Master's degree in international relations from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies.  In the course of his business career, Don has also attended various management programs at INSEAD, Stanford, the University of Chicago GSB, and the Center for Creative Leadership.  In addition to this, he has been certified ACC by the ICF and as an executive coach by the Corporate Coach University in the USA. 

Don is an officer in the Singapore Chapter of the International Coach Federation (ICF); he is an active member of SIM's Organizational Development Interest Group; he is active in the Human Resource Management committee of the American Chamber in Singapore; and he is on the Council of the Stanford Alumni Club of Singapore.
